Samsung Galaxy A57 5G Overview
Samsung has introduced two new midrange smartphones in Nepal — the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and the more affordable Samsung Galaxy A37 5G. Among these, the A57 5G stands as the most premium option in Samsung’s Galaxy A lineup for 2026 and is currently open for pre-booking in Nepal.

Design and Display
The Galaxy A57 5G features a slimmer and lighter body compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A56. It measures just 6.9mm in thickness and weighs 179g, whereas the A56 was 7.4mm thick and 198g. While the difference may seem minor on paper, it noticeably improves the in-hand feel.
The device maintains a premium build with glass on both the front and back, paired with an aluminum frame. It also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Color options include Lilac, Icy Blue, and Navy.
On the front, it sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports HDR10+ and delivers accurate colors with balanced tones. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, although the bezels remain similar to previous models.
Performance and Software
Powering the device is the Exynos 1680 chipset, replacing the Exynos 1580 used in the A56. It also brings an upgraded Xclipse 550 GPU, offering better gaming performance compared to the previous generation.
Samsung has improved thermal management as well, with a 13% larger vapor chamber to sustain performance under load. The phone comes with 8GB or 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, although the 512GB version is not currently available in Nepal.
On the software side, it runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. This update introduces visual refinements along with new Galaxy AI features such as voice transcription, AI-based text extraction, and improved search capabilities. Samsung has also committed to six years of software and security updates.
Camera
The camera setup remains unchanged from the previous model. The A57 5G includes:
- 50MP main camera with OIS
- 12MP ultrawide lens
- 5MP macro sensor
The front camera is 12MP.
In good lighting, the main camera produces sharp and accurate images with decent dynamic range. However, the ultrawide lens struggles in challenging lighting conditions, especially with shadows and contrast.
A major drawback is the absence of a dedicated telephoto lens. While the phone offers digital zoom through cropping, it doesn’t match the quality of true optical zoom—especially when competing with rivals like the Nothing Phone (4a), Vivo V60, and Honor 400 Pro.
Battery
The Galaxy A57 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging. While this setup is reliable, it falls behind some competitors that now offer significantly larger batteries, ranging from 6,000mAh to even higher capacities.
